The James West Centre is a multi-purpose community venue located within the new Welbury Farm development in north Hailsham.

Owned and managed by Hailsham Town Council, the Centre consists of an 18m x 11.7m hall, able to accommodate an audience of around 200 seated, in addition to two meeting rooms.

The Centre also includes a modern kitchen, store rooms, toilets, changing rooms and a P.A. system.

The facility can be hired for community events, sports, business meetings, memorial services, youth groups and other social events, as well as private function hire.

James West Centre in the Community...

Deputy Lieutenant of East Sussex Mr Miles Jenner formally opened the Centre at a special event attended by family members of the late James West, hirers of the centre local residents and town councillors, including the former Deputy Mayor Grant De Jongh.

Not only has the new Centre already helped to expand opportunities for community and sports activities in Hailsham, but it has also met the growing need for community and private hire space now and into the future.

The James West Community Centre is ideally suited to the following activities and more: Social clubs and activities, sports and games, dancing and keep fit, parent and toddler groups, craft exhibits, short mat bowls, birthday parties, after-school and Saturday clubs, children's classes and clubs, family functions, seminars, quiz nights, fundraising events, barn dances, public consulation events, business meetings, conferecnes, training courses, martial arts training, yoga and pilates classes
